Subdivision 5—Duties of person who commissioned asbestos removal work

294 Requirements at end of removal work

  • On completion of Class A or Class B asbestos removal work, the person who commissioned the asbestos removal work must arrange for a visual inspection by an independent person to verify that there is no visible asbestos residue remaining as a result of the work in the area where the work was performed or in the area immediately surrounding the area where the work was performed.

297 Clearance certificates

  • The person who commissioned the Class A or Class B asbestos removal work must obtain a clearance certificate from an independent person on completion of the asbestos removal work and was being performed is re-occupied.

Penalty: 100 penalty units for a natural person; (Currently $15,857.00) or 500 penalty units for a body corporate. (Currently $79,285.00)
